Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay-Thai fighter from Peru and a mixed martial arts artist that is competing with her country in UFC within the Flyweight Division. She is currently in the Flyweight Division. She is the older sister of her fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's fight sport career started out as a Muay Thai athlete. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title before being defeated by Suzane Mller in a unanimous decision. Antonina Shevchenko was awarded a second medal in 2007, she was awarded a bronze medal in 2008 and winning gold in 2011 and was crowned the 2015 IFMA World Amateur Muay Thailand Champion. Antonia's professional career began in 2003. In 2012 she won an event called the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship and in 2016 she won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's final bout took place in the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She was able to win by a unanimous vote. Antonina Shychenko's first professional MMA debut came in 2002 in the KFK cup of Kyrgystan where she was matched against Anara Bayanova. She took victory by TKO in the second and continued to beat two more fights in the WXF X-Impact World Championships, 2003. It gave her the record of 3-0 in MMA. Shevchenko had a brief break from MMA and devoted her time to boxing. Shevchenko made her comeback at the end of 2017 in a fight with Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa Haddaoui with a unanimous decision. She defeated Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4 by unanimity. She resigned from the organization and began Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina knocked out Nievera using her impressive striking ability during the clinch, using the body with knees. In the aftermath of this win Antonina was offered an UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut at TUF Heavy Hitters' Finale, where she faced Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was defeated by Roxanne modafferi by split decision in her first fight. Antonina came back from losing after defeating Lucie Pudilova in the UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler by a rear-naked choke submission. She was awarded the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko lost 1-2 in her subsequent three bouts. She beat Ariane Lipski but fell to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina was recently defeated by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos -Walker.
