Kim Delaney was an American actress from America. The actress is best known for her role as the detective Diane Russell, in the ABC drama series NYPD Blue. For this she was awarded an Emmy Award. Her other credits include her role in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney is the daughter of an executive in the United Auto Workers who was also a mother. Delaney has four older brothers. Though she had a aspiration to become journalist, it was not until high school that Delaney began to model. After moving away from New York City and gaining experiences with commercials and commercials in New York did she achieve the career as aspiring court reporters. In her teens her first appearance as an actor was on the 1980 soap opera All My Children. Since then, Delaney has been featured in many films television movies and dramas. Similar to her profession but her personal life hasn't been happy or successful. The talented actress was afflicted with addiction issues in the past and has been through two failed marriages. In 2005, she was denied the custody of her son.
